Today sees the release of Action Comics<\/i> #1000<\/a><\/b>, the first North American comic book to reach that number in serial publication since Dell’s Four Color<\/i> #1000 (see listings for it on eBay)<\/a><\/b>\u00a0in 1959 \u2014 see Action<\/i>‘s progress over the years in our legacy numbering timeline<\/a><\/b>. In the meantime, we have some new\u00a0Diamond Comic Distributors<\/a>\u00a0reorder charts, also out today. First we’ll\u00a0<\/b>look first at how the books already in stores fared, and move on to the future:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These are items that have already shipped, but have been receiving additional orders from retailers. In most cases below, the items are in stock and so the orders are being filled; occasionally items are back-ordered, so their reorders will enter into the channel once they become available.<\/p>\n

These are ranked by invoiced dollars, so retailers’ discounts have already applied to the totals before ranking.<\/p>\n

For the umpteenth time this year, the\u00a0Infinity Gauntlet<\/a><\/i><\/b>\u00a0trade paperback repeated as the top reordered softcover and top reordered item by dollars overall; the book wound up 17th overall in the charts for\u00a0March<\/a>.\u00a0<\/b>An\u00a0Image<\/b>\u00a0sale resulted in every\u00a0Saga<\/a><\/i><\/b>\u00a0trade paperback volume making the top 12.<\/p>\n

The top hardcover was DC’s\u00a0Action Comics: 80 Years of Superman<\/b><\/a><\/i> hardcover, which previously had topped the advance reorder charts. It released in shops last Wednesday. Diamond reports that both it and Action<\/i> #1000 are still in stock for reorders.<\/p>\n

We have to go all the way down to 17th place among reorders to find the first comic book: Batman<\/i> #44<\/b>, which went on sale April 4. (See listings for it on eBay<\/a><\/b>.) The second printing, due out in May, placed highly on the advanced reorder charts below. Last week’s top reordered comic book,\u00a0Amazing Spider-Man<\/i> #798<\/b>, was the #2 reordered comic.<\/p>\n
