{"id":4559,"date":"2015-08-11T19:40:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-11T19:40:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-07-31T19:20:43","modified_gmt":"2020-08-01T00:20:43","slug":"july-2015-comics-sales-estimates-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/comichron.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/11\/july-2015-comics-sales-estimates-online\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2015 comics sales estimates online: Archie #1 tops 100k copies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: right;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/comichron.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Archie1-1.jpg\" width=\"223\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/monthlycomicssales\/2015\/2015-07.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>comics sales estimates for July 2015 are now online<\/b><\/a> here at Comichron, completing the picture reported <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.comichron.com\/2015\/08\/july-2015-comics-orders-dip-silghtly-on.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Friday<\/b><\/a> of a slightly off month for new comics orders, influenced at least partially by a lower number of new comic book releases.<\/p>\n<p>There were seven titles with sales over 100,000 copies, including the relaunched <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/CCArchie1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b><i>Archie<\/i> #1<\/b><\/a> which squeaked past that mark with 101,488 copies ordered. It&#8217;s the main Archie title&#8217;s highest ranking for a title in the Diamond era; issue #600 back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/monthlycomicssales\/2009\/2009-08.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>August 2009<\/b><\/a> placed 35th with 54,000 copies ordered. <b><i>Life with Archie<\/i> #36<\/b> back <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/monthlycomicssales\/2014\/2014-07.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>last July<\/b><\/a> hit 27th with 57,000 copies ordered. The main Archie title was the #1 book in the industry back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/yearlycomicssales\/1960s\/1969.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>1969<\/b><\/a>, thanks to the cartoon series and the &#8220;Sugar, Sugar&#8221; hit single. Click to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/titlespotlights\/archie.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>complete postal sales history<\/b><\/a> for the Archie title.<\/p>\n<p>Marvel&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/CCMarvSW1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b><i>Star Wars<\/i> #1<\/b><\/a> appeared again in the Top 300, bringing the total number of copies ordered since January to 1.029 million copies.
