More years will be soon to follow. Some years have a full 300 entries; earlier ones have fewer. But all show something we can&#8217;t see just from looking at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/monthlycomicssales.html\"><b>monthly comics reports<\/b><\/a>, because the year-end tallies include all reorders that individual comics and trade paperbacks garnered throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>2007, as the link shows, was the year that featured the end of <i><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Civil-War-Mark-Millar\/dp\/0785121781?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=farawaypcom-20&amp;link_code=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Civil War<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=farawaypcom-20&amp;l=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969&amp;o=1&amp;a=0785121781\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>, <\/span><\/i>the death of Captain America,<i><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and <i><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/World-War-Hulk-Greg-Pak\/dp\/0785126708?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=farawaypcom-20&amp;link_code=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World War Hulk<\/a><\/b><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=farawaypcom-20&amp;l=btl&amp;camp=213689&amp;creative=392969&amp;o=1&amp;a=0785126708\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>. Thanks largely to these titles, Marvel took the #1 spot on Diamond&#8217;s Top 300 all twelve months of the year. These sales contributed to the year&#8217;s 9% increase in overall sales over 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Since Diamond does not provide indexed figures with its year-end reports, these tables are simply rankings without estimates. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comichron.com\/vitalstatistics\/topcomics2000s.html\"><b>end-of-decade page<\/b><\/a> does feature aggregated unit sales estimates for several of the highest-ranking issues, but, again, since not all months of reorders appear in Diamond&#8217;s Top 300, those figures are slightly lower than the actual numbers of copies shipped.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: right;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by John Jackson Miller and T.M.
