The holiday season wasn't much help for sales in as the collapse following the peak year of 1993 continued.

Following a million-dollar advertising push in the summer, Tekno-Comix launched with a line of comics trading upon the names of celebrities. The line collided with customer skepticism about how involved some of the celebrities really were — but more imporantly, the general decline in the market. It was no time to launch a new franchise. The first two issues ranked 24th and 25th.
